Why The Name BLACK STALLION HILLS?

A great Costa Rica story that we get asked about all the time is why the name Black Stallion Hills.

We were all riding the property, six of us around sunset, before we decided to take the financial plunge & make the big commitment & buy it, when out of the unkempt jungle bush a wild black horse bolted out in front of us. He shocked us & the horses we were on & we were all stunned by his sudden appearance out of no were, it was a unique moment.

Once we calmed down, we all looked at each other and with out saying any thing, almost a telepathic thing, we all knew the place would be named after this mystery crazy black horse.

After thinking it over, it was clear that we would call the place Black Stallion Hills, it was a slam dunk decision. Today after all the legal work required to secure the name & register it in Costa Rica, its now cut in stone.

But getting back to the story, later we asked the locals whose horse it was and if they had seen it? They answered was no, nor did they know who's black horse it was. Still to this day we have never seen him again, so it's always been a mystery, a cool one.
